VTIPG to Co-sponsor ASPECT lecture with Dr. Dana Nelson

VTIPG will co-sponsor a workshop and public lecture with Dana Nelson, Getrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor of English at Vanderbilt University as a part of the ASPECT guest series on Neoliberalism and Society. Dr. Nelson is well known as a scholar of race, gender, and democracy, with a particular focus on the United States.

Professor Nelson will present a public lecture on Thursday, January 22 at 6 pm, Surge 108.  Her paper addresses: "Barriers against Democracy: Rethinking the Nation's Founding." The paper is part of her current book research which tracks the interplay of aesthetic, social and political models of democratic representation, with particular attention to alternative conceptions of democracy practiced and imagined in the early United States.
